The Immortal Romance slot is probably the best-known vampire slot out there, but there are plenty of others that are worth playing. We thought we would run through the best of them.

Immortal Romance

Let’s start with this classic Games Global vampire slot, shall we? You ought to have guessed by now that this one is going to be our favourite. The clue is in our domain name!

What makes Immortal Romance so popular? Well, it’s all in the gameplay. This 243 Ways to Win game from Microgaming has a great bonus game that you will enter if you manage to thud in 3 of those creepy door knockers. There are 4 main characters in the game: Amber, Troy, Sarah and Michael and they all have their own free spins bonus named after them.

On top of that, while you are playing, you may fire off a random bonus called Wild Desire. When this hits, up to five reels can be transformed into wilds and as you can imagine, that can result in some pretty mammoth winning runs.

This is a popular game with high rollers because it is pretty volatile. If you can hit a hot session quickly, it can pay out big.

Dracula Slot

This NetEnt game is a real visual treat and is snapping on the heels of Immortal Romance for the #1 spot. It doesn’t quite get there due to the superb gameplay on the Microgaming slot, but if we are purely talking about design, entertainment and sheer spookiness, then the Dracula Slot probably edges it.

This game feels more like a movie than a slot and with 40 pay-lines of blood-sucking action this game is almost disturbing, especially when he morphs into a plague of bats over the reels. Shudder.

With Stacked Wilds and a free spins bonus, it’s no slouch either. Ten out of ten for design!

Blood Queen

This is an IronDog Studio game (1X2 network) that is a very nice looking game vampire slot indeed.

It’s set in Transylvania of course, and the full moon builds throughout the game while the Blood Queen and Van Hell go head to head while you go after wins.

The Vampire is one evil-looking dude and there’s a Stake involved plus the Queen’s ruby stone as well as the Blood Queen and Van Hell.

The Gargoyle Wilds are worth looking out for and if you manage to trigger the bonus game you will need to pick either the Blood Queen or Van Hell to be your bonus host.

Blood Lore Vampire Clan

This NextGen game isn’t going to win any design prizes but it does have a certain “back to basics” charm about it. Symbols on the reels include vampires, churches, guns and potions so you’ll be in no doubt that are in the right genre.

The vampire queen is wild and the one you should try and land symbol – she will pay you 250 times your stake if you get five on a pay-line, and she substitutes for all symbols except the scatter. Plus she doubles wins when part of a winning combination.

The Free Games are set off by landing three or more moon scatters – three will give you twelve free spins whilst four will give you sixteen free spins. If you bag the full five, you will get twenty free spins. All wins are inflated by a 3x multiplier

Remember, the Queen Vampire wild symbol doubles wins when part of a win – so that means a 6x multiplier. Plus you can re-trigger the feature by getting three or more Moons in the free spins round.

So I guess you are starting to see the appeal. Yes, it’s a simple low-tech slot, but the gameplay ain’t bad.

Other Games

When we started this post, we assumed that the vampire theme was going to be a bit like the Egyptian theme or the Irish theme when it came to slot games. You know, there would be a ton of them.

But they are pretty thin on the ground and it’s a two-horse race between Microgaming’s Immortal Romance and NetEnt’s Dracula slot. Immortal Romance just edges it on gameplay we’d say.

Other big design houses like Playtech seem to have looked away when it comes to vampires for some reason. They did launch one called the Vampire Princess of Darkness slot, but it was pretty half-hearted and it’s not the best game we have played to be honest. 1X2 gaming launched another called Dark Thirst which isn’t bad but it’s still not in the same league as the heavyweights of the genre. Merkur launched one called the Vampires slot but again it’s pretty basic.

I guess if you were looking for one more big game in the genre, that would be the Vampire’s Lust slot- a WMS game, but we haven’t seen that online. We have only seen it in land based casinos.
